The sun was high over Alphindale. The birds chirped, children played, and in the market side of the city people frolicked about enjoying their time out on the town. A modest fountain sat in the square, a dog ran around it barking and playing with a little boy.
Across the street was a toy shop. A pleasant cozy place, the inside decorated in warm comforting colors, and shelves upon shelves of vibrant colorful children's toys
A young woman in her teens browsed around picking up dolls and figures, light heartedly fiddling with them before returning them to their proper places.
A tall man in a mask stalked around the aisle, quietly approaching her ready to pounce like a cat on its prey. He leapt and grabbed her by the shoulders, "RAHH!"
The girl yelped and jumped, then let out a laugh. "You scared me! Take off that stupid goblin mask!"
The man laughed and tossed the mask aside carelessly onto the shelf, his dark green hair fluffed out wildly. "You always scare so easy, it's adorable!"
She punched his shoulder and he gasped, "Hey! Bad! No no!"
The girl let out a huff and pouted, "Always so mean to me!"
They both laughed. The man pushed up his glasses, "Well, my dear Anna, care to accompany me to the restaurant now? Our table should be waiting."
He took her hand in his own and kissed it, she smiled warmly.
"Of course my love."
